Wanggudu – PT Sumber Bumi Putera (SBP), a mining company in North Konawe, Southeast Sulawesi, demonstrated its commitment to community empowerment programs. This time, the company sent six local residents from the mining area to attend a security training program in Citeureup, Bogor Regency, West Java.
According to Sudriyanto, the Technical Mining Manager of PT SBP, this program is one of the company’s commitments to community empowerment. “We hope that through this program, the local community can improve their quality of life and become more independent,” said Sudriyanto.
The six participants who departed for the training are Aswar, Muis, and Padriawan from Pusuli Village, Andowia District, as well as Aril from Mowundo Village, Molawe District, and Masrul and Erwin Saputra from Mandiodo Village, Molawe District, North Konawe Regency.
Sudriyanto stated that this program is one of the company’s social responsibilities. “We hope that through this program, the participants can improve their skills and abilities as security personnel,” he said.
Jumadil, the Public Relations Officer of PT SBP, added that the security training program has been ongoing for some time. The participants who attended the training acquired practical skills that can be applied if needed in government institutions or private companies.
“We hope that through this program, the community can improve their knowledge and skills in maintaining safety and security, which can be applied in their future careers,” he explained.
This community empowerment program is in line with PT SBP’s vision and mission, which is to become a responsible and sustainable company in developing human resources in the mining area. Therefore, PT SBP hopes to become an example for other companies in implementing effective and sustainable community empowerment programs.
One of the local residents who participated in the training, Muis, expressed his gratitude to PT SBP for the opportunity. “We are very grateful to have attended the security training. This will be a valuable asset for us to apply for security jobs in companies that need security personnel,” said Muis. (*)
